Thesis Statement
The discovery of HeLa cells by Dr. George Otto Gey is a documented turning point in medicinal history because it not only opened doors to the discovery of many vaccines and research opportunities that continues to save lives today, but it also helped the world learn about the women behind the cells, Henrietta Lacks.
